Communication can be very easy.It could be sharing an ipod to listen to music together or just smiling at someone. We also communicate with one another face to face. We write letters and emails or use telephone or mobile phones. What is so easy for us today was not an easy task earlier. Messages were sent via messengers or riders, through smoke signals or drums.Today, we can send robots to other planets and control them from the earth. we can film anything, and the pictures come to our living room via satellite. It is incredible that all these developments took place only in the last 100 years.
Ways of communication:
There are lots of ways to communicate: Speaking, singing, clapping, hooting. Even animals communicate with each other - in ways different from the humans. Only humans can express their thoughts and feelings in words because of our superior brain. Both humans and animals have a language in common that is nothing but the body language. Sometimes, we don't use words but gestures like traffic signs or simple movements in hand in order to communicate.
Many people think that the parrots also understand what they speak, but the zoologists assume that the brain of the parrot is not developed enough to express it's own thoughts and they only imitate the sounds they hear.
Why do many animals cannot speak like humans?
A lot of organs such as larynx, pharynx, tongue, teeth and brain participate in speaking process.
All though animals poses all thesse organs, their structure is different from in that of humans. For speaking, it is important to properly control the processes involved, mainly breathing. This is done for humans by their brain. first the air is inhlaed, and then deviated through the larynx from the lungs. The larynx has small muscles called the vocal chords.when air passes into the stretched vocal chords it causes them to vibrate and produce sounds
Apes need to inhale extra air for every sound so they are only capable of rhythmic shouting or calling only
